Update

Interface Updates

We've introduced significant improvements to the bookshelf, including enhanced information display and the ability to upload or generate book covers. The main book analysis screen has been completely redesigned, making it clearer, more informative, and easier to navigate. Alongside these updates, we've resolved an issue with character threads and refined the logic behind emotional arcs and world-building.

New

Critique Tone

You can now choose how direct or gentle your critic is.

Critique Tone is a 5-level setting that controls the style of feedback you get.

Set your preference in Author Preferences (the gear icon). Your choice applies to all future analyses and is shown on each critique as “Reviewed by: [Critic Name] ([Your Tone])”.

Feature

Deep Analysis now Available

Deep Analysis cross-checks the critic’s findings against the full manuscript, applying revisions where necessary to deliver a more accurate and dependable result.

It takes a little longer and uses additional tokens, but it provides the most thorough review we offer.

Formats

Support for Word Documents!

Manalyzer now supports the .docx file format, some of the advantages include:

More Accurate Critiques
  • Better page-by-page analysis since text boundaries are clearer
  • More precise word/sentence counting
  • Improved dialogue detection and narrative analysis
  • Better chapter and structure detection
Important

IMPORTANT INFO!

Manalyzer is now no longer in BETA.

A big thank you to all our testers! This live version has some pretty major changes under the hood, and as such any books on your bookshelf will need to be deleted and re-uploaded.

If you don't then you are likely to receive some of those awful errors that are too cryptic to ever understand.

Performance

Performance Boost to Analysis Process!

What changed? We've moved to a new "Extract Once" system. Previously, we processed your PDF every time you requested an analysis.

Now, we extract the text immediately upon upload and save it securely. This means future analyses will start instantly, without the wait.

What you need to do

Because this is a fundamental change to how we store book data, analyses will no longer work for books uploaded before today.

Please delete your existing books from your bookshelf and re-upload them.

This one-time step ensures your books are compatible with the new, faster system. Any new books you upload from now on will automatically benefit from these improvements.

Thanks for helping us test and improve Manalyzer!

Worldbuilding

World View Overhauled

We’ve added new capabilities to World View.

The Worldbuilding Analysis now runs a dual-layer evaluation in a single pass:

What’s included

World Consistency

Assesses the credibility, depth, and internal rules of your fictional world, including lore, geography, and cultures.

Character Threads

Traces the narrative arcs of up to five main characters, highlighting key events, where they occur in the story, and their emotional impact.

How the insights are presented

1. Interactive World Map (Primary View)

  • The Graph: An interactive network graph visualizes connections between characters, locations, and items.
  • Character Popups: Clicking a character node opens a detailed information panel.
  • Thread Section: Within this panel, beneath the character’s role and traits, a new Thread section displays a vertical timeline of that character’s journey—allowing you to follow their path through the story in context with the world around them.

2. Manuscript Report (Static View)

  • In Analysis Results, the Worldbuilding Credibility card provides a written critique of the world’s consistency.
  • Character threads are also listed here in a linear format, ensuring the insights remain accessible without interacting with the map.

Note: If you have already run the Worldbuilding & Lore analysis, you’ll need to reset the analysis and run it again to see these updates.

New features

New Features!!

Repetition Analysis

A specialized copy-editing tool within the AI Engine designed to identify overused words, redundant phrases, and monotonous sentence structures. It functions as a "muttering detector" for authors, highlighting linguistic patterns that weaken prose.

Plagiarism and Originality Analysis

A specialized module designed to evaluate a manuscript's intellectual property integrity and creative uniqueness. It functions as both a legal safeguard and a stylistic diagnostic tool for authors.

Heads up

Major changes are on the way…

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to upgrade the infrastructure that powers Manalyser.

These improvements will allow it to handle much larger manuscripts, deliver deeper and more comprehensive analysis, and produce more accurate results than ever before.

We’ve also introduced a number of visual enhancements and refinements.

As always, your feedback remains invaluable to us.

Pricing

Token Cost Adjustments - in progress

I’ve added dynamic pricing that adjusts automatically based on the length of the text being analysed.

How it works:

The system now applies a multiplier depending on the total word count:

  • Short stories (under 20,000 words) are charged at half the standard rate.
  • Novels (20,000–80,000 words) use the standard rate.
  • Long novels (80,000–120,000 words) incur a higher rate.
  • Epic-length works (over 120,000 words) are charged at the highest rate.

This ensures shorter works aren’t overcharged, while larger and more complex texts fairly reflect the additional processing required.

Additional note: All calculated costs are rounded up to whole tokens so pricing remains consistent and predictable.

UI

Enhancements Galore

Today we’re rolling out several visual improvements, including:

  • Version details – Add richer information about your book during upload
  • Improved help – A clearer, more readable layout
  • Mobile support – An optimized experience on mobile devices

In addition to these updates, we’ve also made numerous behind-the-scenes improvements to enhance performance and reliability.

As always, we’d love to hear from you—please help support us by sharing your feedback.
