Manalyzer is a passion project built by a writer, for writers.
Three decades of global IT infrastructure. Twelve published books. One realisation: indie authors deserve better tools than what existed. So I built them.
Our mission
To empower authors with intelligent, accessible, and insightful technology that bridges the gap between raw creativity and a polished, marketable manuscript. We believe that by providing a powerful AI developmental editor, we can help writers hone their craft, refine their stories, and bring their best work to light, regardless of their background or resources.
Built on Google Cloud
The initial concept was prototyped in Google AI Studio. Today the analysis engine routes each task to the frontier model best suited to it — across providers like Anthropic, Meta, and Google — via OpenRouter. The full production stack:
- Multi-model AI pipeline via OpenRouter — the analytical core (different models for utility, analysis, and reasoning tasks)
- Google Cloud Run — serverless API hosting
- Firebase Hosting — fast, global frontend delivery
- Google Cloud Firestore & Storage — secure user data with strict isolation
- Google Secret Manager — credential hygiene
How we ensure quality
While I am the sole developer, the project is not built in isolation. Manalyzer's features and the quality of its AI-generated output are continuously validated by a trusted circle of users. This crucial feedback loop refines our AI prompts and ensures the analysis is genuinely insightful and relevant to writers' real needs.
A personal note
Manalyzer started as a personal project driven by my love of books, technology, and problem solving. Since stepping away from full-time employment due to ongoing health challenges, I have found that having a creative project to focus on has been incredibly valuable.
I want to be clear that Manalyzer is a passion project that I work on when my health allows, at my own pace, and in a way that fits around my circumstances.
One of the things that has made this project possible is the emergence of modern AI-assisted development tools. As someone with a long background in IT, I have found "vibe coding" tools and AI coding assistants to be genuinely transformative. They have allowed me to continue creating, experimenting, and building software in ways that would have been far more difficult for me previously.
I genuinely believe these tools are a game changer — not because they replace creativity or experience, but because they remove barriers and allow people to turn ideas into reality. Without them, Manalyzer would almost certainly not exist.
