What exactly is Manalyzer?
Manalyzer is an AI-powered developmental editor designed for fiction authors. It goes beyond grammar and spell-checking to give you in-depth feedback on plot structure, character development, worldbuilding consistency, pacing, and overall marketability. Think of it as the senior editor who's available 24/7, in your pocket, and a fraction of the cost.
The app is built on Google Cloud and routes each analysis task to the frontier model best suited to it (via OpenRouter), grounded in your actual manuscript — every piece of feedback cites a specific passage and page.
How do I get started?
Create a free account, upload a PDF or DOCX of your manuscript, and pick the analysis tools you want to run. You'll get 10 free tokens to start, which is enough for a first look at a short story or a single chapter.
Is my manuscript safe? Who owns the rights?
Your work is always yours. You retain 100% of the rights and ownership of your manuscript. We treat your work with the strictest confidentiality. Manuscripts are uploaded securely to a private Google Cloud Storage bucket, and our system only accesses the text to perform the analysis. We will never share, sell, or use your manuscript for any other purpose. Your data is isolated and protected using industry-standard security practices.
How does the token system work?
Tokens are the currency of Manalyzer. Each analysis you run consumes a number of tokens, based on the length of your manuscript and the complexity of the analysis. This pay-as-you-go model means you only pay for what you use. You get 10 free tokens on signup, and you can purchase more as you need them.
Tokens never expire. There is no subscription.
Do you use my manuscript for AI training?
No. Your manuscript is processed to generate your analysis and is never used to train any model. Manuscripts are stored in user-specific folders using your unique Google ID, ensuring strong separation between users.
What file formats do you accept?
Currently, we accept PDF and DOCX. DOCX gives us better text boundaries, more precise word/sentence counting, improved dialogue detection, and better chapter detection.
We recommend exporting your document from your writing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Scrivener, Google Docs) as a standard PDF or DOCX file before uploading.
How long does an analysis take?
A standard full analysis on a 90,000-word novel takes about 3 minutes. Smaller manuscripts are faster; the largest epics (200K+ words) can take up to 8 minutes for a comprehensive run. You'll see a live progress indicator.
Can Manalyzer replace a human editor?
Manalyzer is a powerful tool in your editing process, but it is not a replacement for a professional human editor. It serves as an affordable and incredibly fast 'first-pass' developmental editor, helping you identify and fix major structural and narrative issues before you invest in human editing services. This lets you present a much stronger manuscript to a human editor, saving you time and money in the long run.
The recommended pattern: Manalyzer for the first 3–4 revision passes, then a human editor for the final polish.
What's the Interactive Critic Chat?
After you run an analysis, you can open a live chat window with the AI critic. The model retains the full document context, so every answer is grounded in your actual text. Ask it "Why does chapter 12 feel slow?" or "Is Marcus's motivation consistent from chapter 3 to 18?" and get an answer with page references.

What's the Campaign Playbook?
The Campaign Playbook generates a complete marketing launch for your book from your manuscript analysis. It writes Instagram captions, X threads, email sequences, Amazon ad copy, a blog SEO outline, and a landing page — all rooted in your book's actual characters, themes, and voice.
A typical agency commission for the same deliverables would cost thousands of pounds and take weeks. The Playbook does it in the time it takes to make a cup of tea.
What is the Community Books feature?
Community Books is a built-in reader community where you can share a preview or the full manuscript of your book, gather honest ARC feedback, and watch reader activity in real time — pages read, annotations made, ratings given.
What happens to my manuscript if I delete my account?
Deleting your account removes your manuscript, your analyses, and all associated data from our systems. The action is permanent. We do not retain copies for any purpose.
Do tokens expire?
No. Tokens you purchase are yours until you spend them. There is no monthly reset and no subscription trap.
Can I get a refund?
If you haven't spent your tokens, yes — contact support@manalyzer.online within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund the original payment. Once tokens are spent on analyses, the associated cost is non-refundable (because the analysis work has been performed).
Which genres does Manalyzer support?
All prose genres. The analysis tools are genre-agnostic but our Market & Publishing tool lets you specify a comp-title genre to get tailored results. We see strong usage in fantasy, romance, thriller/mystery, science-fiction, literary fiction, and YA.
Is there a Manalyzer desktop app?
Not yet. A Windows writing studio, Manalyzer Writer, is in development. Sign up with your email to be notified when the beta opens.
